Rousing Rock Renditions of the Classics
"Radar Love" and "Gotta Get Out Of This Place"

One of the earliest DSM microphone recordings of the now defunct CODE 3 rock band local to Santa Cruz California. This 1985 vintage recording was done outdoors on a 1500 sq.foot tri-level deck situated under old growth redwood trees nested along side the San Lorenzo river a few miles north of the town of Boulder Creek. A unique acoustic ambient mix of direct pure acoustic vocals/drums, amplified lead and bass guitar and reflected sounds from the granite/hard sandstone lined river gorge and surrounding old growth redwood trees gives this recording an astounding depth not found on any other rock music recording. The lead vocals were performed within inches of the headworn DSM microphones........ drums were centered at a 12 foot distance..... the lead guitar amplifier/speaker (turned up very loud) was to the left 35 feet away and 8 feet down on a lower deck.......... the massive bass amplifier/speakers were located at a 25 feet distance to the right........ the guitar musicians were using long cords to be within 8 feet of the DSM microphones so that group vocalizations could also be audible and acoustically mixed with the much louder instruments. No PA was used..... an unusually clean sounding pure acoustic recording of vocal/drums and electric lead/bass instruments resulted.
